ECBC HOSTS PUBLIC MEETING
SYDNEY (NS) – October 14, 2010 – Enterprise Cape Breton Corporation (ECBC) will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre.
The purpose of the meeting is to enhance public understanding of ECBC’s mandate and activities. There will be presentations on the Corporation's key business activities and programs over the past year, its strategic direction and key initiatives for the coming year, its organization and economic impact.
A question and answer session will follow.
“ECBC plays a significant role in the Cape Breton economy and it is important for the community to understand the breadth of its activities,” said John Lynn, Chief Executive Officer. “Through its own programs, the environmental remediation and human resource programs of the former Cape Breton Development Corporation and the programs administered on behalf of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, ECBC injects over $116 million annually into the local economy.”
The evening will begin with a networking session at 6:00 p.m., followed by the public meeting at 7:00.
